Awareness is the first step. This page turns the map into practical next steps for ordinary people anywhere in the world: learn and share, contact your own representatives, and support organizations that already work with persecuted communities.

Freedom of thought, conscience, and religion is a universal human right, recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 18. You do not need to share the faith of those documented here to care about that right.

This site was built as a companion tool for SIT: Solidarietà Internazionale Trinitaria (International Trinitarian Solidarity), the Trinitarian Order’s solidarity ministry for people persecuted because of their Christian faith. See also the Italian SIT page.

Learn and share

Use the map to open a country page. Share that country URL, not only the homepage, so others see sources, context, and recent reporting. The FAQ answers common questions about scale and definitions.

If you pray, you can pray for the people and places named on a country page.

Contact your representatives

Religious freedom is a foreign-policy and human-rights issue wherever you live. Ask your own elected officials, or their foreign-affairs / human-rights committees, to treat freedom of religion or belief as a priority in diplomacy, aid, trade, and refugee protection.

What to say

• Point to a specific country page on this map and ask them to read the linked sources.
• Ask them to raise freedom of religion or belief in bilateral talks, parliamentary questions, or committee hearings.
• Ask for protection and fair processing for people fleeing religious persecution.
• Ask for transparent public reporting on religious freedom abroad (many governments already publish annual reviews).

Find your representatives

Official parliament or government tools are listed by region. This is not a complete world directory: if your country is missing, use your national parliament’s official website, or see International / not listed.

Support people on the ground

Persecutio does not process donations. Links go straight to the organizations. We do not certify charities. Before giving, verify independently using tools such as Charity Navigator, ECFA, or your national charity register (for example the UK Charity Commission search or Canada Revenue Agency charities list).

How we chose this short list

• Mission fit: public work on freedom of religion or belief / aid to persecuted Christian communities, or FoRB legal advocacy.
• Already used on this site: prefer organizations already documented on the About sources tables.
• Transparent giving or advocacy surface: clear public website; we only link out.
• No unresolved regulator red flags: we do not list organizations under active statutory inquiry as recommended giving destinations (see evaluated table).
• Partnership honesty: SIT is listed first because this site is a companion tool for that ministry, not because we audited it as a “best charity.”

For readers who want policy levers beyond a letter to a representative:

• U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF): annual reports and country recommendations.
• U.S. State Department International Religious Freedom reports: official country reporting.
• Global Magnitsky Act (State Department overview) and OFAC Global Magnitsky sanctions program: targeted accountability tools (case-specific; not an average first step).

Other democracies publish analogous religious-freedom reporting or human-rights sanctions frameworks; start from your own foreign ministry or parliament human-rights committee.
